Windham Millwork was the architectural millwork company selected to help restore the historic Eastland Hotel in Portland, Me. The new Westin Portland Harborview Hotel was a $50 million renovation and is now the largest hotel in the State of Maine with 289 rooms. The original hotel, The Eastland, first opened in 1927 and cost roughly $2 million to build.

Another Hotel Opportunity at Jay Peak Resort

Windham Millwork, Inc has been awarded with its third hotel opportunity at Jay Peak Resort.  The new hotel, Stateside Hotel and Lodge, will be replacing the 50 year old Stateside Chalet.  The new hotel is 84 rooms and roughly 70,000 square feet.  In addition to the hotel will be a 12,000 square foot skier service building.  This day lodge will have an area for over 300 people at one time and will include food service.  Also in this will be guest day use lockers, retail, rest room facilities, ticket sales/customer service, and a ski school sales desk.

Cross Insurance Center

WMI Completes The Cross Insurance Center

Windham Millwork, Inc has recently completed the entire millwork package at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine.  The Cross Insurance Center is a 5,800 seat multi-purpose arena.  The new arena will be replacing the Bangor Auditorium and will hold up to 8,500 people. The arena will be used for concerts, and features an attached 2,000-person convention center.  The Cross Insurance Center is directly across the street from Hollywood Casino and Hotel. Another project where Windham Millwork has provided all the interior woodwork.

AUGUSTA — All the woodwork, countertops, sink tops, windowsills and even the protective strips along the walls and the corner protectors are coming from a single firm in Windham.   Dan Berube, onsite foreman for Windham Millwork, talks about the cabinets that workers have already installed during a tour on Dec. 4 at the new MaineGeneral regional hospital in Augusta. The cabinets, counters and some other items are pre-made back in the shop at Windham Millworks before being shipped up and installed.

It’s all part of the emerging hospital under construction in north Augusta, where Maine General Medical Center is spending $312 million to consolidate operations in a modern building.

WMI Completes Green Mountain Coffee’s New Facility

Windham Millwork, In has recently finished manufacturing and installing all the interior woodwork for Green Mountain Coffee’s R&D Facility.  This beautiful facility is located in the mountains of Vermont. Where Green Mountain Coffee can develop new products to put on the market.  Above all, WMI custom built an array of millwork throughout the facility and the outcome was great.

Custom wood cabinets and plastic laminate cabinets can bee seen throughout the offices, kitchens and labs.  A variety of countertops can bee seen throughout the building including, solid surface countertopsplastic laminate countertopsepoxy countertops and even concrete countertops.  Furthermore, the wood stair rail leading to the second floor and curving around the entire mezzanine floor overlooking the entrance was quite the layout and craftsmanship that WMI can bring to a project.

Green Mountain Coffee

The custom woodwork WMI created was just as impressive as the casework and countertops.  Custom bench seating that includes cushions or a curve are throughout the first floor.  For instance, a slatted wall enclosed bench area was an impressive custom piece on this project. Sliding panelsbamboo paneling and wood paneling are seen throughout the lounge area as well as in the sensory portion of the facility.  In the library WMI constructed and installed bookcasesbenches and a custom rolling ladder for hard to reach areas of the library.  Furthermore, the most impressive custom piece on the project was the custom curved circular desk.  This desk was almost a complete circle and showcased the craftsmanship and beauty WMI can produce.

Green Mountain Coffee’s R&D Facility shows a lot of talent that WMI can provide.  This building featured cabinetscaseworkcustom panelingcustom reception desks and a variety of countertop materials.  All furnished and installed by Windham Millwork, Inc.  In conclusion, WMI is proud to be able to provide Green Mountain Coffee with the high quality woodwork for their new facility.

Eastview at Middlebury – A State of the Art Retirement Community

Windham Millwork, Inc has recently completed all the architectural woodwork at Eastview at Middlebury. Eastview at Middlebury is a state of the art retirement community located in Vermont. The newly constructed two story 85,000 sq ft facility featured extensive woodwork and creative design throughout. Therefore, furnishing and installing 3,500 feet of base, 2,600 feet of handrail, 57 kitchens and kitchenettes alongside numerous custom millwork items.

There were 32 different plastic laminate colors at Eastview. Making each of the 57 units very unique and personal for its tenants. Therefore, requiring Windham Millwork to create numerous window sillscountertops, memory cabinets and vanities for each unit. There were two bars, three reception desks and numerous mailbox units. In addition, theres a library on site that was all custom made for Eastview.  Additionally, the dining hall features curved crown mouldingcolumn wraps and custom fireplace mantles. One of the more eye catching pieces of craftsmanship was the custom wood staircase in the lobby as you enter the facility.

Eastview at Middlebury was a challenging project, requiring extreme attention to detail with the size and uniqueness of the facility. This retirement community offers its tenants independent living, assisted living and memory loss treatment all within its walls. In conclusion, it’s a remarkable project that Windham Millwork can be proud to be apart of.
